Olivia Babcock set the school record for kills in a single season in program history in the Panther’s 3-0 win over UMBC in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. Let’s break down the path to the record so far.
In 30 regular season contests she had 545 kills which averages out to 18.16 kills per game. In two NCAA tournament games she has 37 kills which is 18.5 kills per match. So even in the heat of the playoffs she is staying consistent and even has a slightly better average than during the regular season. This is also impressive as both of Pitts tournament wins have been 3-0 sweeps

When you have the 65th ranked offense in college football, things aren’t going very well. A 5-4 record speaks for itself. After giving away games vs Georgia Tech and Louisville with turnovers and salvaging a win vs Syracuse, Pitt looks to finish a down year with 3 wins.

Its tough being a head coach. Nobody signs up for the job without knowing the consequences. The scrutiny is intense. Men or women’s sports. Especially at a Power 5 school. Pitt hoops has vastly underperformed for the past 4 years. The new coaching hires of Jeff Capel (Men) and Lance White (Women) in March and April of 2018 respectively have really struggled to progress even the slightest from their predecessors (Kevin Stallings and Suzie McConnell-Serio respectively).
