By Miami Hurricanes standards, the 2013 football season has been a “down” year. Yes, they started the season with 7 straight wins. However, after a number of injuries especially to star tailback Duke Johnson, Miami lost 3 straight games before winning this past Saturday.
Last week, Pitt’s special teams cost them a game against North Carolina by giving up two punt return touchdowns. This week, it was just the opposite as Pitt’s special teams helped Pitt to a 1 point win over Syracuse today, 17-16.
On paper one would think Pitt and Syracuse have been long, bitter rivals in college football.
