Patterson Lifts Pitt Over Miami In OT

Pitt basketball was sliding into the abyss after consecutive home losses to Duke and Virginia. It took their best player to get them out of the funk.
In the process, Pitt beat Miami 59-55 in overtime in a hard fought game in Coral Gables, FL.
As has been the case all season, Pitt was led by its star winger Lamar Patterson who scored 25 points on 6 for 14 shooting from the floor. Patterson was also hot from the charity stripe as he shot 9 for 12 at the line.
The Panthers (19-4 overall and 7-3 in the ACC) also received help from senior center Talib Zanna (10 Points) and junior shooting guard Cam Wright (12 points).
Miami (11-11 overall and 2-7 in the ACC) kept the game close throughout and were down by only 1 at halftime by the score of 29-28. The Canes were led by reserve guard Rion Brown who pumped in 21 points which included 4-9 shooting from behind the arc.
