Wheeler Sets Decision Date

Pitt football fans have been waiting for Central Catholic DT Rashad Wheeler to make his college decision.  Now we can tell you when that announcement will be.  

DreamBackfield.com has learned that Wheeler will announce his college decision on Monday, August 10th.   Wheeler will make his decision live on KDKA-TV during the 6 PM newscast.  Last month, Wheeler’s teammate CB Bricen Gricen also made his decision live on the local television station with Rich Walsh.

I’m told that on August 10th, Wheeler will be deciding between Pitt and Maryland.  The 3-star defensive tackle also holds offers from Boston College, Illinois, Penn State, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Wheeler has long been considered a Pitt lean because of the amount of time spent at the Pitt practice facility but he’s hard to get a true read on.

Pat Narduzzi and Pitt would love to get a commitment from Wheeler and then hope other WPIAL recruits will follow him like teammate 4-star CB Damar Hamlin and WR Aaron Matthews.

Once again, Wheeler will make his college choice on August 10th.
