Pitt Signs 23 To 2014 Class
This morning, Pitt completed its 2014 Football recruiting class with the signing of 23 new players. Pitt’s newest class is ranked anywhere from 37th to 50th depending on the service out of 120 FBS schools.
The biggest recruits to sign were RB Chris James, a 5’10” 205 lbs back out of Niles, IL, Alex Bookser a 6’6″ 295 lbs offensive tackle out of Mt. Lebanon, PA, Mike Grimm, a 6’6″ 311 lbs offensive tackle out of Bethel Park, PA and Adonis Jennings, a 6’3″ 183 lbs wide receiver out of Sicklerville, NJ.
With so much talk of Jamie Dixon’s recruiting struggles on the hardwood, Paul Chryst was under similar fire for this class. Most of the focus was on the players Pitt lost in Western PA that had the Panthers in their final 5 schools.
However, Chryst did manage to fill some important gaps with the roster starting with the offensive line which was the worst the ACC in sacks allowed last season.
